The Fort Dorchester Boys came home with a top 5 finish overall in 5th on Saturday at the Sandlapper classic, the first meet of the season. The team looked strong as the 4x100m came home in first, half a second ahead of second place. Dwayne Curnell and Jy’heim Wilson took home 1st and 3rd in the 100m finals respectively both breaking under the 11 second mark. Chris Addessi set 3 personal records in the pole vault this weekend finishing with a mark of 13 feet 6 inches, 2 feet higher than his previous PR while teamate Eddie McClellan took home 8th with a vault of 8 feet even.. Darius capers looked strong in the 200 and 400m events not getting pushed by anyone in his heats and taking home 4th and 7th. The distance meadly team came home in 5th while 800m runners Zakk Megee and Cameron Hornsby took home 7th and 8th in the 800m. Essien Muhammad finished 4th in the Triple jump finishing with a new PR of 40 ft 3.5 inches. The 4x800m team fished 5th overall. And to round out the scoring for the Fort, Cameron Bellinger and Amagee Allah took home 5th and 6th in the 110m High Hurdles.
